Data Cloud No Code, Low Code & Pro Code Skills

Megnity 2 min read

Salesforce solutions that were implemented on different (sales, service, marketing, etc.,) clouds have always been successful based on experienced technical team members. Depending on the business case the solutions vary from out-of-the-box (no code to low code) to custom (a mix of no code to pro code level) where such solutions extract the full potential of the salesforce to enable the success of the customers.

These solutions are implemented by teams with members that have the correct mix of technical people whose skill sets range from being no code configuration specialists (no code) to custom development specialists (low code to pro code). Irrespective of the skill set each member is vital for the success of the project.

The powerful Salesforce data cloud that can help you Connect, analyze, and activate your customer success too demands a similar level of technical expertise and the right skills from team members to extract the best and most out of it.

On a high level the skill sets that are required can be typically categorized into 3 categories as follows;

1. No code skills

2. Low code skills

3. Pro code skills

No Code Skills

No code skills are the most basic or entry-level of skills needed for Salesforce Data Cloud. With no code skills, you can use Salesforce Data Cloud without writing any code. This makes it a great option or a stepping stone for beginners or for people who don’t have a lot of coding experience.

Some examples of no code skills include:

  • Provisioning connections to data sources
  • Creating users and permissions
  • Defining data sources
  • Creating reports and dashboards

Low Code Skills

Low code skills are a step up from no code skills. With low code skills, you can use Salesforce Data Cloud to write simple code. This gives you more flexibility and control over your data, but it also requires more technical knowledge.

Some examples of low code skills include:

  • Creating formula fields
  • Writing SQL
  • Creating calculated insights & streaming insights
  • Creating identity matching rules and reconciliation rules
  • Segmenting data
  • Creating data actions with flows

Pro Code Skills

Pro code skills are the most advanced type of skills needed for Salesforce Data Cloud. With pro code skills, you can write complex code to use Salesforce Data Cloud to its fullest potential. This requires a high level of technical knowledge, but it can give you the power to do things that are simply not possible with no code or low code skills.

Some examples of pro code skills include:

  • Writing ingestion APIs like – Bulk APIs, Streaming APIs, and web/Mobile SDKs
  • Writing integration with REST APIs
  • Writing complex SQL queries
  • Writing LWC components
  • Creating metadata Automating tasks
  • Creating data actions with Platform events

Data Cloud implementation needs the expertise of all the 3 types of Salesforce consultants from no coder to low coder and to pro-coders for successful implementation and utilization of the data cloud and its features to embark on a renewed journey of customer 360’success.
